The job
A Poll Dorset ram has one job in a commercial flock: sire a lamb that grows fast, finishes early and hangs up well. Rams bought at Netley Park go over Merino and crossbred ewes across the South East and the Wimmera to breed prime lambs for the domestic and export trade.
Selection at Netley Park runs on growth, carcase and structure — rams that walk, cover ground and hold condition through a dry finish, not just rams that look right in a sale pen. Stockscan figures are taken on the sale draft and are available on any ram before sale day.
