Cannawigara, South Australia
Thirty-one sales, one gate.
Netley Park has offered rams on the property every September since 1996.
Netley Park
Netley Park sits at Cannawigara, about ten minutes north-west of Bordertown in the South East of South Australia. Michael King runs the Poll Dorset and Border Leicester studs side by side on the one property.
The two breeds cover the two halves of a prime lamb system. Border Leicesters go over Merino ewes to breed the first-cross ewe; Poll Dorsets go over those ewes as the terminal sire. Buyers who run both can source both here, off one draft, on one day.
Rams are grown out at home on the same country and the same seasons that most buyers are working in — the South East, the Upper South East and the Wimmera. They are not pushed on feed to look bigger than they are in September.
